FALCONS APPOINT COACH FOR 2012 31st December 2011 The Falcons are pleased to announce that after an extensive process, Adam Fiore has been appointed coach of our senior team for 2012. Adam comes with FFA accreditation and vast playing experience at Premier, State and Provisional leagues as well as a six month stint playing overseas. His most recent coaching experience has been at Boorondara Eagles but includes stints at Templestowe Eagles, Watsonia and some junior coaching at Bulleen. PRE-SEASON TRAINING 5th February 2012 Next session will be on Tuesday night 7th February 6.45pm at Hayes Park. The whole pre-season program including practice games can be found below. If you know anyone that wants to play seniors or reserves ask them to come down. They won't be disappointed. Any queries call Adam on 0424 149 034. 2012 Pre-season Training Schedule (inc. Practice Games) JUNIOR NEWS 1st February 2012 The Falcons juniors Registration / Come 'n' Try day will be on Sunday February 19th at Hayes Park (Flinders St., Thornbury) starting at 11am. On this day the kids can have a kick around and then enjoy a sausage and drink afterwards. Fees can be paid on this day as well as answering any questions you may have. All our playing fees for this year have unfortunately had to rise due to increased operating costs and our commitment to the clubroom redevelopment. We regret this but it was unavoidable but we are confident that you will not find better value for money anywhere else. The new fees are: Under 7's - $250 ($200 for 2nd child) Under 9's and above - $350 ($300 for 2nd child) Should anyone consider that the fees are so restrictive that their child can't play, please come on the 19th Feb. and have a chat so we can sort something out because we would hate for your child to miss out. We are also in the process of finalising coaches and playing strips for 2012. Announcements about these are also in the pipeline. One bit of news we can confirm is the establishment of a junior sub-commitee which will help streamline our junior operation. We welcome aboard, John Zanin, Max Loche, Kon Avramidis and Tanya Franco who have committed to give of their time to help increase the enjoyment of our kids. Thanks guys!! HAYES PARK REDEVELOPMENT NEWS #4 1st February 2012 Darebin Council submitted the 'Strengthening The World Game ' funding application on 31st January. We now wait till about end of June when they will tell us if we are successfull or not. Thanks to everyone who put in such a huge amount of work to get this done. Max Loche, John Giordano, Frank Materazzo, Adam Sebastiano and the guys from Holy Trinity CC. Also, thanks to Andrew McHugh and Don Nicholson from Darebin Council Leisure Services for all their work and belief in this project. The lighting upgrade is still scheduled to be completed by the start of next season even though the Capital Works Dept. at Darebin Council has not signed off on a start date as yet. We will keep you posted. INTELLECTUALLY DISABLED PROGRAM NEWS 6th February 2012 On the 8th, 9th and 10th of February the club will be represented at the Annual "Have a Say" conference where over a thousand people with disabilities will attend. Our ID coach Anthony Risoli will be conducting a soccer workshop and promoting the club Also, we have managed to secure a number of games for our ID kids in the coming months. These are: Sunday March 18 Sunday June 24 Sunday August 26 Sunday October 28 Sunday December 9 Note: All games will be played at DISC (281 Darebin Rd., Thornbury) and will start at 12.30pm. Their new kit is also on the way thanks to our friends at Metro Asphalt.
